Summer-GameING SoSe 2026 - Couch games and board games

internal

It's that time again! On July 3rd, GameING will once again take place at the TUHH - this time with a summer twist. Instead of our traditional LAN party, this year's Summer GameING will be a couch and board game event, so you don't have to drag your PCs through the summer heat, but can simply come along, play your favourite console games with your friends and maybe even play a few cards games outside if the weather is good!

Bring a good mood and join us for a night of gaming fun - whether it's console games on the couch or old-school board games at the table. Anything goes, nothing has to - the main thing is to play together and have fun! We will set up several TVs and projectors with screens in the LuK, where you can play your favourite games together on various consoles. At the same time, you can play various board and card games upstairs in the multi-purpose room. We will provide a few consoles, console and board games, but if you have a console and/or controllers, please bring them with you, we probably won't have enough for everyone. Of course, you are also welcome to bring your favourite board and card games, especially if your favourites are less well-known games.

The Summer-GameING starts on Friday at 6 pm and ends on Saturday at 5 am at the latest. We are always happy to have set-up and dismantling helpers!

Tournaments

No GameING would be complete without tournaments, which is why we are organising them again this time:

Smash Bros.

Register spontaneously on the evening of GameING and compete against each other in several battles! Here, you will fight your way through a bracket system to be the Smash Bros champion at the end and win some sweet prizes! You can register for the tournament at the games counter. If possible, please bring your Switch / Switch 2 and controllers.
The start is probably 8 o'clock (exact time will be announced on Instagram), so be there on time. We look forward to seeing you :)

FAQ

Q: Is there an internet connection at the LAN party?
A: Yup, but only the university’s Eduroam Wi-Fi. There are also a few Ethernet ports here and there, but you’ll need to bring your own Ethernet cable.

Q: What games will we play?
A: You decide! Popular games include: Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, Mario Party, Keep Talking & Nobody Explodes, lots of couch games, and much more.

Q: Can I bring my own food and drinks?
A: Yes, you’ll need to provide your own food and drinks. However, electrical appliances (such as kettles, toasters, etc.) may not be plugged in.

Q: Do I need to bring my own console and games?
A: No. We’ll also provide a few consoles, such as a GameCube, PS2, and Nintendo Switch. If you want to play a different one, you’ll need to bring it yourself. Feel free to bring your own Switch, since ours probably won’t be quite enough. The same goes for games. We’ll most likely have the popular ones, but not all of them.

Q: What is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?
A: 42

Q: Why does this FAQ only have five questions?
A: Now it has six.
Q: HODOR!
