This year we're once again holding an Orientierungseinheit (OE for short) — an orientation week — for all first-year students.
The OE is a week-long period right at the start of your studies, where you'll get to know the university and your fellow students. The OE is organized for you by us, your Fachschaftsrat (student council).
Signal Group Link
This year we've once again set up a Signal group for you first-years. You can use it to start making contacts in advance, and we'll also post all the info about upcoming events there. So feel free to join the group.

Dates
The (highly recommended) Brückenkurse (bridging courses) start on 28.09.2026 at 9:00 in Audimax 1. The exact locations will still be announced on the linked page.
They run until the start of the Orientierungseinheit. The IT introduction on the first day (e.g. WiFi and printing at the university) is especially important.
On Thursday, 05.10.2026, we'll meet for the first time at the Semestereröffnungsfeier and the first-year welcome.
During OE week, starting 12.10.2026, you won't have any lectures yet. It's instead packed with all kinds of events. Among other things, there will be a rally through Harburg, a campus tour, and a nerdBar, so you can get to know the campus, the neighborhood, and your new fellow students.
All our events take place on the TU Hamburg campus in Hamburg-Harburg. The best way to get there by public transport is via the S3 and S5 lines to Harburg-Rathaus or Heimfeld station. Next to the schedule overview you'll find a campus map,
so you can always find us.
Real student life then finally starts for you on 19.10.2026 — that's when your regular lectures begin (tutorials/exercise classes usually start about a week later).
